Sakura-Con announces first Japanese guests for 10th anniversary celebration
Seattle, WA- 1-11-2007 Just in time for the New Year Sakura-Con is pleased to present three new Guests of Honor for Sakura-Con 2007!
Kaori Nazuka is the voice actress behind such well known roles as: Subaru of .hack//sign (TV), Kisa Soma of Fruits Basket (TV), Lala-Ru of Now and Then Here and There, Chiriri in Bottle Fairy, Ao in Grrl Power (TV), Usuzu Chan in Di Gi Charat Nyo (TV), and Eurika in Eurika 7 among many others. We are excited to welcome her for her first ever Sakura-Con.
Sakura-con welcomes Anime Director and Designer Hiroshi Nagahama to Sakura Con as a returning Guest of Honor. Mr. Nagahama is known for his design work on many titles such as: Samurai Deeper Kyo (Opening animator, Package Cover Design) The Cockpit (Mecha Design), and Revolutionary Girl Utena TV series (Concept Design, Mecha Design, Animation Director). Directorial titles to his credit include: Jubei-chan: Secret of the Lovely Eyepatch (Assistant Director), Now and Then, Here and There (Storyboard, Assistant Director), Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoiyo Masaru-san (Storyboard, Assistant Director, and Animation Director) and Fruits Basket (Storyboard, Assistant Director, Opening and Closing Animation Animator).
Last but certainly not least, Sakura Con is proud to also announce Anime Creator and Director Akitaroh Daichi will be returning for his second Sakura-Con. Mr. Daichi is the Creator and Director of such successful shows as Elf Princess Rane, Jubei-chan 1 and 2, Grrl Power and Now and Then Here and There, among others. Mr. Daichi is know for the direction on such hits as Kodomo No Omocha (Child's Toy), Akazukin Cha Cha (Little Red Riding Hood Cha Cha), Nurse Angel Ririka, and Fruits Basket.
All three of our new Japanese guests have worked together for several notable titles including the newest: Mushishi TV with Hiroshi Nagahama as Director. Akitaroh Daichi and Kaori Nazuka contribute in the area of storyboards and voice acting. Be sure to ask them about this exciting new title.
Presented by the Asia Northwest Cultural Education Association, Sakura-Con is the oldest and most well attended anime convention in the Pacific Northwest. Member attendance for Sakura-Con 2007 is modestly projected to hit approximately 10,000 individuals; with most members attending all three days (for a potential turnstile count of well over 20,000)!
