Anime Boston 2021 Announces Cancellation of Event
Boston - Anime Boston, the largest anime convention in New England, announced that it will be cancelling its 2021 convention at the Hynes Convention Center, Boston, Mass, on April 2 through 4, 2021.
On March 13, 2020 Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker announced a ban on all gatherings of 250 or more people in an effort to stem the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Although there has been recent developments with vaccine rollouts, the large gathering ban is still in effect with no end date. Given the uncertainty of the restrictions, Anime Boston has been cancelled for the 2021 calendar year. Additional information can be found at animeboston.com.
"We hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy, and we encourage everyone to do their part in getting a vaccine when it is available to you," said Kristen Leiding, Convention Chair. "We hope to see you at a better time at the next Anime Boston, May 27 - 29, 2022."
